Dear Mr MacDonald,
MASTO LUBRICATOR
-------------------------------
I must apologise for the delay in submitting a report on this piece of new aquipment. As I explained to you on phones two days ago, I was not aware of the need for a raport. In
fact, I can find no trace of any correspondence on this subject.
The Masto Lubricator has been used on the crane wires on
board this ship. The ship`s staff have found it simle and easy to use. It does a quick and very thorough job. When using Masto for the firs time, It tends to become rather a messy job. This is understandable when you consider the amount of old grease being remowed.
The first time it was used, the crew were able to complete two sats of crane wires an hour. As well as being efficient, it is time-saving.
The only adverse commant relates to the size of seals supplied with the lubricator. The only sizw supplied were 24mm. An assorted set of seals in the range 12mm – 24mm would enable ship’s staff to use Masto on lifeboat, Rescue Boat, and Accommodation ladder wires.
The Masto Lubricator would be welcome addition to the Deck Equipment Inventory.
Yours sincarely,
E. R. Bruce Master
